IBM Thinkpad X21

Mark: Very good

The X21 runs fine with MCP2R and even with eCS12Rde, On my X21 mostly everything is supported by eCS12R: audio, network, pcmcia/cardbus (IBM2SS14.SYS), usb and the external floppy/DVD-rom in the expansion unit.

Have eCS 1.2 running on a Thinkpad X21 (40 GB disk, 384 MB RAM, 700 MHz) myself and am generally happy with it. Especially nice is the built-in FlashCard reader.

Limitations:

1. The built-in chip set maxes out at 137 GB disk size or so, so 160+GB disks are off limits unless perhaps you do magic with Danis drivers.

2. The X2 media slice docking station (holds stereo speakers, more connectors and a bay for optical disk and one for floppy) works great, but the machine cannot be docked/undocked while running or sleeping or hibernated. Current drivers appear to require one to boot either with or without. That is too bad as it limits flexibility.

3. USB ports are 1.1 only, no 2.0 devices.
