I have just replaced my old HP Business Inkjet 1100 printer to HP Business Inkjet 2800. 2800 is the only model, which is still on market of this printer family.

1100 was supported with OMNI driver, and even CUPS system worked by using HP BIJ 2200 drivers (600 dpi graphics).

HP BIJ 2800 works, for example using model 3000 drivers, both PCL and Postscript (600 dpi). With 2230/2280 I get colour, too. Double sided printing works also.

Paavo Nurminen: <P> Excellent <P> This is addition to my earlier report. Now I am using it with CUPS 1.4.6 and HP-LIP, which gives support for all features of the printer. Capacity up to A3. Duplex unit works with CUPS. It can print in 1200 dpi, though then it needs e.g. photo paper. Settings of printer in printer, not in driver only. You do not need the driver to track cartridge changes. It is not cheap, but I can recommend it, if you need quality inkjet printer.
