Lenovo/IBM ThinkServer TS100 6434

Lenovo/IBM ThinkServer TS100 6434

Mark: Good

The machine works very nicely, however it was not that easy to get it going:

The good:

  • ACPI detects and enables both cores
  • Video (ATI ES1000) is supported by SNAP
  • SATA controller works with DANIS506.ADD
  • Machine is stable

The bad:

  • The LSI MegaRAID 1064S SAS controller is not supported
  • unable to get USB mouse to work (reliably)
  • Panorama traps in GRADD.SYS

The successful workarounds:

  • The onboard NIC Broadcom NetXtreme BCN5722 could be added GenMAC in unsupported mode
  • An old serial mouse can be used successfully.

The Panorama trap in GRADD.SYS should be resolved in eComStation 2.0 GA.

It turned out that it was only a Logitech USB mouse that is somewhat incompatible. Other USB mice (Microsoft, noname...) work nicely.

Meanwhile I also got a Quadcore Xeon 2,66 Ghz version of this machine, which also works reliably with all cores (ACPI 3.17) including power management.

The only thing left is the LSI SAS Controller, which is not supported.
