Dell Latitude X300

Mark: Average

(the report is combined by ecomstation.ru)

eComStation 2.0 RC6a

Installation was from docking station USB DVDROM drive - Yes, install from USB attached CD device works fine :-)

  • The X300 uses Uniaud for sound and SNAP for video without problems.
  • The only problem encountered when installing to this notebook was with the nic drivers.

The nics were correctly identified by the Install but the Peer Install and subsequently the Phase2 install failed because the drivers had not been installed.

Both nics use genmac "wrapper" drivers: Broadcom 570x, 14E4:165D and Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100, 806:1043

I retried the install deselecting the correct nic drivers and installing the "dummy" nic driver. The install was successful.

I then installed the genmac wrapper and correct nic drivers, ran MPTS to Change the "dummy" nic for the Intel Wireless nic.

I then installed xwlan and rebooted after which this notebook had working wireless connectivity.
