ASUS P5KC (Quad Core)

Mark: Good

I had the chance for a short test of the ASUS P5KC board with an Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad processor X9650 at 4x3.0 GHz, 2 x 6 MB Cache and with 8 GB DDR2 RAM. I installed eCS 2.0 RC4 and ist worked fine out of the box: The Attansic L1 GB adapter ist correctly identified (1969:1048) and works with GenMac Wrapper, although it seemed a bit slow. SMP support seems to work, as are USB and the SATA II Disks. I had to ommit Uniaudio as it periodically freezed the system and hindered the LAN too. Power management seems also to work (e.g. shutdown with automatic power off, a thing which doesn\'t work with Win XP pro x64!) I installed VirtualBox 20080210 and installed WinXP pro SP2 from an ISO image: Amzing: it was installed in 25 Minutes! It worked stable, despite the warning in the readme not to use SMP and VirtualBox together.

How to prepare USB flash disks (USB harddisks and other USBMSD devices) so eComStation can access it?
