Intel D975XBX2 (Core 2 Duo)

Mark: Average

I recently got one of my existing machines to run on an Intel D975XBX2 motherboard with a Core2Duo E6420 2.13Ghz chip and 2GB RAM but it was a bit of a struggle. I didn't reinstall on this system, I mirrored an existing 160GB to a new one and then hacked on that install to make it work. The built-in LAN chip needs a currently unreleased version of Genmac (but is obtainable if you ask for it). I'm using an Asus ATI X300SE PCiE video card and that works acceptably with SNAP 3.1.8. You want to run kernel 14.104a and get as many of the updates from the Ecomstation web site as you can and apply those. To get both processors working I had to use ACPI.PSD with switches /SMP /PIC /R /NOD. I'm using Danis506.add 1.7.10 and am booting from a SATA disk drive. USB works. I don't have audio on this machine so haev no idea how hard/easy that would be to make work.
