Tyan Tomkat K8E (S2865ANRF)
Mark: Good http://www.tyan.com/product_board_detail.aspx?pid=91
This board is somewhat different from the S2865 described by Alex Taylor.
It does not have onboard video or two LAN ports, nor does it use the
Broadcom or Marvell LAN chips. Instead it has one nForce4 native gigabit
LAN port, which works well using Genmac 2.0 and the nVidia Windows XP
drivers. I'm using it with an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ dual-core processor.
It works well in SMP mode using ACPI driver since 2.13 -- occasional
problems with shutdown or rebooting have gotten better with newer
versions, although nVidia support isn't complete yet.
Specs in brief: 4x PATA-133; 4x SATA-II; up to 4GB ECC or non-ECC DDR400 RAM;
up to 6 USB 2.0 connectors; onboard VIA 1394a; 1x PCI-e x16; 2x PCI-e x1;
4x PCI; onboard Realtek ALC655 5.1 audio.
I'd give the board a higher mark but it's given me other problems. The
fan speed & temperature monitors no longer seem to work. Windows XP,
Ubuntu and Gentoo Linux have dire problems with the board's ACPI support
(Tyan says only Redhat and SuSE are supported.)
For OS/2 and eCS, however, it's a pretty good board for dual-core support.

eComStation developer! Keep in mind that eComStation should be your main system: make all work in eCS, using eCS tools. If you start spending 1 hour/day in other system then you stop any development for eComStation..
