/ Guidelines: Base control elements / Radio buttons

Radio buttons

Example 1:

GOOD:

--- When closing notebook LID ---
(*) nothing
( ) suspend to SLEEP_S1
BAD:

If more options then radio-buttons occupy too much space and should be replaced with combo-box

--- When closing notebook LID ---
(*) nothing
( ) suspend to SLEEP_S1
( ) suspend to SLEEP_S2
( ) suspend to SLEEP_S3
( ) suspend to SLEEP_S4
( ) PowerOff

  • + all options are visible
  • - occupies space

Exception:

  • You can use many radio-buttons if this group box is used often so user can select option faster.
GOOD:

--- When closing notebook LID ---
combo-box:
 [ suspend to SLEEP_S3 ]

  • + compact form
  • - to see all options users should move mouse and click

ArcaOS 5.1.1 - DOS works again

DOS virtual machine works again (it was working on Core 2 Duo, and didn't for i5). Install ArcaOS in UEFI mode to use DOS VM.

We keep the memory about eComStation

OS/2 Guru is the only web-site which talks about the deserts of eComStation (OS/2 Warp was used as base, the development started in 1999.. 2001.. till 2013).
