NDCrypt FAQ

Q1: Does ndcrypt cache data?
A1: No. No caching of data.
 
Q2: Can I loss crypted files?
A2: There are two cases when you can loss the data:
  1. Troubles with the filesystem. [request more details]
  2. Unexpected reboot of the OS. [request more details]

 
Q3: Can I mix files encrypted with different methods (dlls) in one directory?
A3: Please don't do this.
 
Q4: Why the files are stored as separate files (not as large image like in Stacker)?
A4: Yes, it's normal. No plans to change this.
 


NDCrypt Troubleshooting

Q1: The list of files on crypted disk is unreadable (mesh of characters)
A1: Seems that you selected wrong crtypt method (dll). Recall what crypt plugin do you use?
 
Q2: ERROR writing to crypted disk: The system cannot open the device or file specified (110)
A2: Check free space on target volume (#8)
 
Q3: Slow mounting of crypted disk. There are many (large) files there.
A3: It's normal. Imagine that you are working with zip-storage. Storage opening and processing of many files requires more time. (#7)
