Dell Latitude e5450

Mark: Very bad

(2015/11)

This laptop has no integrated CD/DVD,but changing the boot order and making it boot from the CD is easy (just press F12). For install to proceed, needs to turn of UEFI (access BIOS by pressing F2 at the Dell boot logo). Once that was done, I was quite optimistic, but installation of eCS 2.1 resulted in traps for the various options i tried in the install. Too bad, as this otherwise is nice hardware.

Ended up installing VirtualBox (5.08) where eCS 2.1 installs OK. Has net access and appears to work stable, but cannot share folders, which limits usability of eCS (but it works for what I need).

Hopefully, Arca Noae's Blue Lion release (expected 2016 Q3) will make it possible to install on this machine (and many others where installation of eCS fails)
