GigaByte M57SLI-S4 (AMD X2)

Mark: Very good

GigaByte m57sli-s4 (nForce 570 SLI chipset) + Athlon64 X2 4000+

Works fine with eComStation in multi-processor mode. ACPI.SMP /SMP /APIC

How to install eComStation 2.0 beta 4?

  • Do install SMP and ACPI support for nVidia Chipsets
  • Go to the mantaince console after phase 1
  • Remove parameters for ACPI.PSD
  • Complete the installation
  • Install latest kernel (14.104a SMP) and latest Resource.sys (from ACPI package)
  • Add Parameters /SMP /APIC to ACPI.PSD
  • You should now have a working SMP machine.

Which video adapter are you using with this motherboard?

Also meant to ask does the on-board NIC work "out of the box"? If not, what did you do to get LAN with this board?

According to this: [url] the on-board NIC is not supported. Is that correct?

Recently Nickk poste a driver called nveth (for nVidia Ethernet) which works quite well for the on board lan adapter.

Now works with ACPI 3.0.3 implementation just using the /SMP switch.

Just a remark: Sound does apparently not work with the eCS 2.0 RCs, you need to grab an updated package of uniaud from netlabs.
